The History

Before It Was
Boulder Creek

Boulder and Lorenzo were rival towns a mile apart: one a rough logging camp, the other a would-be high-society outpost. By the time they merged, neither side had won. But while the rivalry was still hot and the hillsides were raw with fresh-cut stumps, the locals just called it Stumptown.

From 1875 to 1885, the wooden flume ran lumber from Boulder Creek to Felton. It was also the gnarliest ride in the valley for the loggers who dared to surf the chute at ungodly speeds. No leashes. No backing out.

Stumptown Supply exists to keep those stories on people's backs. This is gear for the people who know that Boulder Creek isn't just a pitstop on the way to the beach.

Stumptown Supply started behind the counter at The Redwood Keg. David came for the extra shifts - his daughter had college to pay for - and ended up reconnecting with the people who make this place what it is.

He's a special ed teacher by trade, but after enough conversations across the counter, he started digging into the old stories: the flume, the feuds, the drive-in nobody remembers. The shirts are just a way to keep the lore in circulation.

When the giants fell, they left behind stages of ancient wood. In the early days of the San Lorenzo Valley, these massive redwood stumps weren't just remnants; they were dance floors for the mountain folk. This design pays homage to those legendary "stump dances," where the music played until the fog swallowed the clearing and the line between the timber and the spirit world grew thin. It’s an eternal embrace rendered in our signature "Forest Noir" style, featuring the Stumptown Supply name and Boulder Creek roots anchored on the sleeves and the back graphic. We printed this on a Comfort Colors 6014 long-sleeve tee because it's the closest thing to vintage quality you can buy new, in a heavyweight. It's got that "lived-in" feel right out of the box. No stiff starch, just soft, garment-dyed cotton that hangs right and holds up to a cold morning in the redwoods. Material: 100% Ring-Spun Cotton Origin: Inspired by the stump dance history of the Santa Cruz Mountains The Vibe: Eternal life in the deep timber.
